Crnch ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Crnch mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — for account creation and communication
- Name — for personalization within the App
- Authentication credentials — managed securely by our authentication provider (Clerk)
If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share (which may include a private relay email address).
Financial Information
When you connect your bank accounts through Plaid, we access:
- Credit card account names — to identify your cards
- Current balances — to calculate utilization and generate payment plans
- Credit limits — to calculate utilization percentages
- Statement close dates — to time payment recommendations
We do not access or store:
- Full account numbers or card numbers
- Transaction history
- Social Security numbers
- Login credentials for your bank
Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data to improve the App:
- Crash reports — collected via Sentry to diagnose and fix bugs
- Analytics events — anonymized events such as onboarding completion, payment tracking, and feature usage. These do not contain personal financial data.
- Device information — device type, OS version, and app version for compatibility
Push Notification Tokens
If you grant notification permissions, we store your push notification token to deliver payment reminders. You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate personalized credit card payment plans
- Calculate safe spending limits and utilization projections
- Send payment reminders (with your permission)
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
We do not use your information to:
- Serve advertisements
- Sell or rent your data to third parties
- Build advertising profiles
- Track you across other apps or websites
3. Third-Party Services

When you connect your bank through Plaid, your credentials are transmitted directly to Plaid and are never seen or stored by Crnch. You can revoke access at any time through your bank's settings.
4. Data Storage and Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+)
- Authentication tokens are stored in the device's secure keychain
- Financial data is stored on secure, encrypted servers
- Server infrastructure is hosted on Vercel with enterprise-grade security
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- Crash reports are retained for 90 days
- When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days
6. Your Rights
- Access your data within the App
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Revoke bank connections
- Opt out of push notifications
- Request a copy of your data
California Residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
